19th Century Oil Painting ‘A Figure by a River at Dusk’ Henri Jacques Delpy 
A beautiful signed oil by the highly collected French Barbizon painter Henri Jacques Delpy, the son of Hippolyte Camille Delpy, oil on canvas, in good condition, sitting in a gilt frame which has some historic damage, nothing major! Signed lower right. 
Artist bio:
Born 28 June 1877, in Bois-le-Roi; died 24 November 1957, in Paris.

Jacques Henri Delpy studied under his father Hippolyte-Camille Delpy. He painted forest interiors under dull skies and sunsets conveying a sense of melancholy. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he was a member, and at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants.
