Brussels artist Ferdinand Jorwitz (1897-1979) studied painting at the Ixelles art school and in the studio of renowned painter Louis Clesse. With his sensitive, poetic touch, he depicted a wide range of subjects: landscapes, picturesque corners of Brussels, interiors, flowers and still lifes.
